Welcome to the next edition of 'BadenBreaks' at Trafo in Baden AG (Switzerland). This children's and youth event is a joint production of 'KidzCompany Breaking Waves' as well as 'Atelier Riverside 253' and the 'Move Too Hot Company' from Germany. The event is supported by 'Trafo Baden' and 'Sterk Cine AG'. We look forward to many spectators and participants from around the block, the city and the country.

We regret to inform you that BadenBreaks 2026, scheduled for January 24, 2026, will unfortunately not take place.
The reason for this decision is the short-notice withdrawal of our private main sponsor due to personal reasons. Over the past weeks, we have made extensive efforts to secure the necessary budget through various local funding bodies and alternative financing options. Despite these efforts and many supportive discussions, it was ultimately not possible to secure the required financial foundation to safely and responsibly deliver the event.
For this reason, we are forced to cancel the Breaking Festival for kids and youth.
We sincerely apologize for the short-notice cancellation and for any inconvenience this may cause. At the same time, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all supporters, helpers, partners, dancers, and families who have made BadenBreaks possible in recent years.
We are already working on a new and sustainable funding concept to ensure the return of BadenBreaks in 2027.

In the past 2 years we have had numerous motivated newcomers, especially in the 1vs1 B-Boy Kids (up to 12 years). However, as there were also many well-known and very advanced dancers involved in this category, the many talented but not yet so experienced young dancers were unable to prevail. This is why we are introducing a 'Pro-Am' category for the TOP8 of the qualification round this year. This means there is more equality of opportunity in the regular category. This makes the event 30 minutes longer, but that's OK, because the kids benefit from it.
If you feel it, you can take part in the 'Longest Moves Competition' between the kids & junior battles. How it works? Quite simply, be there and take part. There are, for example, The Longest Handstand, Most Backspins, Most Handglides, Most Windmills, Most Headspins or other categories, depending on what our participants can do. The competition is led by 'Patrick Grigo', who made it into the Guinness Book of World Records with two entries in 2007 and 2009. Your records will be recorded on video and added to and8.dance's official breaking record database.
Registration is easy with our partner 'and8.dance'. You need an account there and then you can register yourself, your students or even your friends to participate. By the way, there are no entry fees. So participation is free of charge.
We ask that you to 'register online in advance'. That would help us a lot with planning. Of course, last-minute participants can also register on site.
The event takes place at Trafo Baden, directly in the 'TRAFO MALL'. There is a large parking garage and from the train station 'Baden AG' it is about 300 meters by foot. In the mall itself there are public toilets, a gallery and a kiosk. Public shops (Coop) are around and very close.

with Patrick Grigo directly in Trafo Baden before the official start of the event. The workshop is free and everyone is invited to take part - whether young or young at heart!

The participants of the battles start in a so-called preselection and show their skills in front of our judges. After that, the judges selects the TOP dancers in each category for the Knock-Out Round.
In the breaks (approx. 15 minutes each)
Our deejay plays the freshest beats for you and you gonna rock and dance on the dance floors and in the cyphers together with the other dancers, exchange and get to know each other better.
Kids: 14:00 o'clock | Juniors: 18:15 o'clock
Now it's getting serious! The judges has made their selection and now the selected B-Boys and B-Girls dance against each other in a 1-VS-1 mode. The winner in each battle advances to the next round.

Our 'Longest Moves Competition' is about performing a movement for as long as possible, preferably longer than all the others or even better - longer than the existing world record.
Kids: 15:25 o'clock | Juniors: 19:35 o'clock
In the final rounds, the battles for 3rd and 1st place will take place. However, winners are already all participants who will inspire us with their great performances on the dance floor.
